I don’t know about you, but I’m not feeling very stimulated by the massive spending bill in front of the Senate now. Upwards of $1 trillion for a bill that the CBO thinks will harm the economy over time? Especially when the so-called “stimulus” is loaded with pork like funding for waterparks, dog parks, and heritage trails? It’s time to stop this terrible legislation before Congress succeeds in robbing future generations of a fortune.

As it stands right now, Harry Reid and Rahm Emanuel are trying to convince three Senate Republicans — Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, and Arlen Specter — to vote in favor of this, er, crap sandwich. They were earlier negotiating with George Voinovich, but he walked out of the talks and is reportedly opposing the legislation. Collins is feeling less optimistic about the bill’s passage according to Roll Call.

So…

Make sure to call all of their offices to register your opposition. Senator Richard Burr says that the phone calls have been helping and need to be kept up. Let’s melt the phone lines on Capitol Hill. Here are the crucial numbers:

Snowe: (202) 224-5344

Collins: (202) 224-2523

Specter: (202) 224-4254

Michelle Malkin says that if you can only call one, make it Specter. He’s supposedly the leader of the B.O. Republicans. If you’re willing to make a few more calls, however, your help would be appreciated. Kay Hagan (D-NC) is said to be wavering towards opposing the bill. Here’s her number:

(202) 224-6342

Surprisingly, Dianne Feinstein is also reserving the right to vote against it. Why? She doesn’t think it does enough to put jobs out there. A “NO” vote is a “NO” vote, though. Here’s her number:

(202) 224-3841

Please don’t call Feinstein or Hagan until after you get in your objection with the first three Republicans. The first three will likely be more persuadable.
